Global Health
TASC 2 Global Health contractors are a diverse group of highly trained, experienced professionals, working with a wide range of subcontractors and covering the entire spectrum of USAID Bureau and Mission global health needs. These needs include but are not limited to the following:
Policy Reform
- Short-term technical assistance team to review and assess existing policies that may impede the success of population, health and nutrition, infectious diseases, and HIV/AIDS programs
- Long-term advisor(s) or team(s) to recommend and draft more appropriate policies
- Organization and facilitation of conferences and meetings in the United States and USAID-supported countries to support appropriate policies/reforms
Community and Individual Behavior Change
- Assessments of existing activities that influence demand for services or of household or community behaviors that affect population, health and nutrition programs, infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS
- Advice to host governments or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of alternative and improved behavior change strategies
- Design and implementation, in collaboration with local partners, of behavior-change interventions that lead to improved results
- Coordination and facilitation of training programs and capacity building for behavior change in health
- Long-term technical assistance in the establishment of communication activities and of community-based programs
- Development and implementation of mass media programs as part of integrated behavior change programs
Service Delivery
- Assessments of existing service delivery activities
- Advice to host governments or NGOs on improved service delivery strategies, applying lessons learned from other countries
- Design, in collaboration with local partners, of service delivery interventions to deliver improved results
- Coordination and facilitation of training programs in USAID-supported countries in the relevant technical areas
- Implementation of the interventions
- Training
- Technical assistance to support establishment of community-based or facility-based programs
