University Research Co., LLC (URC) is pleased to continue its work from TASC 1 to the newly awarded Global Health TASC 2 IQC. URC is a professional services firm committed to strengthening health and population programs, and is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of primary health care and health care quality improvement (QI). URC supports public and private agencies through technical assistance, evaluation, training and human resource development. Since its founding, URC has been at the forefront of assisting clients to improve their quality, efficiency and effectiveness through the use of quality management and innovative communications and training strategies. Our technical assistance and operations research activities strengthen the management and delivery of quality health services by developing locally appropriate solutions, systems, and procedures and focusing on our clients’ priorities and expectations. Our services include results-oriented project management and innovative strategies for health and population program design, implementation, and evaluation.

URC has the capacity to efficiently manage large, multi-year task orders such as our five-year, $15 million TASC 1 project in Guatemala, Better Health for Rural Women and Children (Calidad en Salud), operating from December 1999 through September 2004. URC has implemented the Quality Assurance Project for over 12 years; Current activities focus on various areas including scaling up quality improvement for HIV/AIDS care and treatment and TB case management, pediatric care and IMCI, essential obstetric care, family planning, infection control and prevention, and malaria case management and field staff in South Africa, Rwanda, Niger, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Ecuador. Other current URC projects that reflect our high quality technical services include our current Benin Integrated Family Health Project (PROSAF), the Health Systems Strengthening in Cambodia project, and the Improving Primary Health Care in Albania Project. As a subcontractor, URC provides assistance through projects such as the Healthier Palestinian Families and Improved Village and Community Health Services Project (The Maram Project, IBM), the Bangladesh NGO Service Delivery Program (PATH), and the Partners for Health Reformplus Project (PHRplus).

URC is committed to working with the Small Business Administration, which includes small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, and HUBZone, to best meet the needs of individual work orders. We have no pre-defined subcontractors, but have identified organizations with whom we have worked on other projects and intend to collaborate on TASC2 Global Health task orders. These partners include: EnCompass LLC, (organizational development, monitoring and evaluation, planning, developing, implementation and evaluation), Initiatives Inc. (reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, capacity building, community development, and organizational development), and Population Media Center (impact-oriented behavior change communication, program design and implementation, health messages in radio and television soap operas).
