RTI International (RTI) is leading a team of partner organizations in implementing the Technical Assistance and Support Contract (TASC2), a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support a full range of population, health, nutrition and HIV/AIDS activities. RTI and its partners offer USAID extensive worldwide experience in global health plus technical leadership in the 65 global health skill areas USAID requires for meeting its TASC2 strategic objectives.

As team leader, RTI is well known for objectivity, responsiveness and collaboration—qualities that distinguish us as a valuable resource for USAID. We have vast experience in managing task order IQC-type contracts providing multidisciplinary services in health, education and local governance, policy, health reform and finance, systems strengthening, clinical and applied research, information technology and evaluation, modeling, survey and statistics, and HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases.

We are a “quick-response” team and our partners have agreed to work exclusively with our TASC2 team. Partners were selected carefully to ensure that the full range of skills requested in the scope of work of this contract are covered. This means we have access to all the skills and experiences USAID needs to design and successfully implement reproductive health, maternal and child health, nutrition, and infectious diseases programs.

What makes the RTI TASC2 Team unique and responsive to USAID’s needs?

• We bring decades of experience, outstanding performance, strong commitment, and a worldwide reputation for implementing evidence-based and data-driven programs. Applying research and evaluation results to making informed improvements in services is the hallmark of our approaches.
• Each partner brings strong core capabilities and has successfully implemented worldwide programs for all three offices of USAID’s Global Health Bureau and for many USAID missions.
• We have strong geographic expertise in all USAID regions, in over 120 countries.
• We focus on building local and regional capacity and tailor programs to meet the local needs of countries and communities. Our dynamic local collaborating partners bring regional perspective in the design and implementation of TASC2 programs.
• We also bring decades of experience building public-private partnerships and working with non-governmental and faith-based organizations.
• The team has extensive domestic experience where comprehensive and integrated approaches and results can often be utilized and adapted to developing country settings. These include HIV/AIDS approaches, health care finance and reform, provider payment mechanisms, quality of care, and private sector partnerships, to name a few.
• Through work in other sectors such as education, civil society, democracy and governance, and in countries in political transition, we know how to design effective multi-sectoral responses to social sector programs and include cross-cutting issues, such as gender, in our work.
